Today Google introduces a major overhaul to it’s search with Google Instant, which allows search-before-you-type. Google explains it this way, “Instant takes what you have typed already, predicts the most likely completion and streams results in real-time for those predictions—yielding a smarter and faster search that is interactive, predictive and powerful.” This update to Google’s search engine is designed to provide relevant search results, making search easier while saving time.
The core features of Google Instant are:
- Dynamic Results – As you type Google will dynamically display relevant search results. You are then able the quickly interact and click through the search results to the web content you are looking for.
- Predictions – A key technology of Google Instant is that it predicts the rest of your query which appears in light gray text before you finish typing.
- Scroll to search – Gives the ability to scroll through predictions and see results instantly for each result.
